Two fencers use "selfie-swords" for a demonstration fight assisted by a referee-presenter. The cameras of the smartphones at the top of the selfie sticks transmit in real time the raw images of the fight between the fencer and their opponent. Among the amplified noises of rubbing and collisions of the selfie sticks, the fencers gradually merge the jargon of fencing with that of photography. The central projection, borrowing the visual codes of sports competitions in high definition, contrasts with the pixelated images of the smartphones broadcast by two side screens. The performance pushes the play of bodies to a disturbing and intimate proximity. The clash of images becomes a dream, a carnal touch through a digital iris.
